Join Jackie Moy — founder of Greenwich Mahjong Club and as featured in Greenwich Free Press — a passionate local Mahjong instructor who has taught hundreds of students in Greenwich and surrounding communities. Embark on your Mahjong journey and learn everything you need to start playing with confidence. Through clear step-by-step instruction and guided practice, you’ll discover the rules, winning strategies, and natural table flow that make Mahjong such a timeless and beloved game. This beginner-friendly series is thoughtfully designed to build real playing experience, so you leave not only understanding the game but truly ready to sit down and play. Along the way, you’ll meet new friends and become part of a warm and welcoming Mahjong community. Hosted in Greenwich and open to students from all nearby towns — including Stamford, Darien, Rye, and beyond.
Cancellation Policy
Mahjong 101 – Course Policy Registration & Payment • Registration is confirmed upon full payment. • Space is limited and reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Cancellations & Refunds • All registrations are final. • No refunds or credits once the course has begun. • If the course is cancelled by Greenwich Mahjong Club, a full refund will be issued. Attendance & Communication • Mahjong 101 is a progressive, multi-session course, with each class building on the previous one. • Full attendance is strongly encouraged for the best learning experience. • If you are unable to attend a class, please notify the instructor in advance, as Mahjong is a four-player game and table numbers must be adjusted accordingly. • Missed classes cannot be made up and are not refundable. • Substitutes are not permitted. ⸻ Course Materials • Digital reference materials are shared during the course to help students review and remember what we learn together. • These materials are provided as a supplement to live instruction, not a replacement. • Hands-on play, demonstrations, guided instruction, and in-class discussion are central to the learning experience. ⸻ Personal Use Only • All course materials are for personal educational use only. • Materials may not be shared, reproduced, distributed, or sold without written permission from Greenwich Mahjong Club. ⸻ Required Materials • Students are encouraged to bring: • A notebook and pencil • Reading glasses if needed • An official American Mahjong card (recommended but not required for the first class)
